About Us
Who We Are
The Natural State Council serves Scouting in 67 counties across Arkansas. Our council is built on a long history of growth and partnership, shaped by regional mergers including Eastern Arkansas, Ouachita, Westark and De Soto. In December 2023, Quapaw Area Council and Westark Area Council joined together to form the Natural State Council. In June 2024, De Soto Area Council merged with the Natural State Council, bringing us to our current 67-county service area.
The Natural State Council Mission
The mission of the Natural State Council is to prepare and develop Arkansas youth for a successful life through the values of the Scout Oath and Law and a safe program that builds character, teaches skills, and offers growth experiences and outdoor adventures.
The Natural State Council Vision
The vision of the Natural State Council is that all Arkansas youth can become capable, responsible, honorable, moral, and ethical citizens leading a life of achievement and service for a better world through Scouting.
